Trivia & History

A note in the playbill after the list of musical numbers credited the staging of the following musical numbers to Helen Tamiris: “Carrousel in the Park.” “Rip Van Winkle,” “The Fireman's Bride” and reprise, “The Big Back Yard,” and Finaletto, although no number was listed as Finaletto. The last number in act two was listed as Finale. It then stated that “all other principals' and singing ensemble numbers dances [were] staged by Lew Kesler.” Kesler was not credited elsewhere in the playbill.

The “Currier and Ives” dance was nonetheless known to have been choreographed by Tamiris.
