The original director, Peter Sellars, was fired before previews started in Boston. The first preview performance there was postponed from Saturday, January 29 to Monday, February 1. The official Boston opening was on February 8.
After the scheduled run in Boston was over, on February 26, the show came back to New York and went back into rehearsals. At first it was announced that previews would start on March 21. That was delayed to March 31, with the opening announced for April 17, and then delayed again to May 1.
