Many sources list June 16, 1906, as the closing date, but ads and theatre columns in the New York Times leave no question that the true closing date was May 19, 1906. This leaves the question of whether the total of 202 performances usually given for this run can be correct. As far as we can tell, the production may have played only seven performances a week — it played only one matinee a week, on Saturday — or it may have played eight (every evening plus the one matinee). In either case, the total of 202 would not have been possible given that the production ran 21 weeks.
