This tour, along with the 1950 studio cast recording of the score, inspired the Broadway revival that was produced the following year. For the Broadway revival, Bob Fosse was deemed insufficiently well known but was hired to understudy Harold Lang. Carol Bruce also did not star in the Broadway revival. Instead, Vivienne Segal of the original production reprised her role of Vera Simpson, but Ms. Bruce did play the post-Broadway tour of that production and also the London edition of the production.
In 1961, Fosse and Bruce would repeat their roles in a revival of the show at New York's City Center.
