Trivia & History

At closing night, Billy Joel appeared after the curtain call and played a rendition of “Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway”, which included an ad-libbed lyric that referred to producers James L. Nederlander and Emanuel Azenberg as the men who lit up Broadway again. He concluded his performance and the run of the show by leading the band in “You May Be Right”.
