Trivia & History
When Laura Bell Bundy decided to leave the show, producers teamed with MTV to broadcast a reality TV show to find her replacement. The show, entitled Legally Blonde - The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods, ran from June 2nd, 2008 until July 20th, 2008.
Bailey Hanks was declared the winner and replaced Bundy on July 23d, 2008. The runner-up, Autumn Hurlbert, served as Hanks' understudy. The third place contestant, Rhiannon Hansen, was given the role of Margot in the national tour. Fourth place contestant Lauren Ashley Zakrin served as the Elle Woods understudy in the national tour.
