The first performance in Pittsburgh, the first tryout city, did not finish till 12:20 a.m. After two weeks in Pittsburgh, te show was supposed to then move on to Newark for a week and then to Broadway, but an extra tryout run of a week was scheduled in Washington, D.C., to give time for more work to be done before Broadway.
