Based on the book The Rothschilds by Frederic Morton

Synopsis

Historical musical dramatizing Mayer Rothschild's rise from being a dealer in rare coins to his becoming the official banker for Prince William of Hesse, assisting him in financial dealings during the Napoleonic wars. Act Two tells the story of how the family not only became the most powerful bankers in Europe but also were instrumental in bringing about the end of the confinement of the Jewish people to ghettos in much of Europe and the signing of a declaration of rights for Jews.
