Trivia & History

Although this recording usually circulates with the Cunegonde identified as being Mary Costa, it may be alternate Barbara Meister.

This recording is sometimes identified as having been recorded in San Francisco, but the contents and sequence of musical numbers match up more closely with the list of musical numbers in the playbill for the Los Angeles run. It's possible that the Los Angeles changes were incorporated late in the San Francisco run so it's not certain where this was recorded.
