The production started performances on October 12, 1955. Reviews appeared sporadically over the course of several weeks, but it does not seems that the performance before any of the reviews appeared were advertised or regarded as previews. 

Originally announced for a limited run of five weeks, the reviews were good enough that the run was extended for a total of 13 weeks. The production played seven performances, except for the first week, when it played six, explaining the total of 90 performances for the run.
