Trivia & History

Lee Remick was to have played Desiree, but illness forced her to withdraw from the production. Several months later, on July 2, 1991, she passed away (two days after the production closed).

Remick had previously been rumored to play Desiree in a production that was being planned for Broadway in 1988. That production was to have been directed by Harold Prince.
