Trivia & History
A rather unusual production. It was done in the Pre-RSC era, so it liscenced the Gabrielson version. However, it was expanded to use the MGM script. It also introduced a framework in which, L. Frank Baum (author of the original book) was improvising the story so that his editor, W. W. West (assumedly a take on W. W. Denslow, the original illustrator) will be pacified.
