Trivia & History

The production had several issues with the lead actors.  Sebastian Bach was fired after the final performance in Columbus, OH.  According to Bach in his statement, the producers wanted to change the ending so that it didn't end on an up-note (presumably a mega-mix after the show's finale).  Bach disagreed and after a near-physical confrontation with an un-named cast member, the production let him go.  Eric Kunze was brought in to replace him, with Lawrence Cummings and Raymond Patterson presumably covering the role of Jesus for the sixteen performances.

Later, Carl Anderson became ill and was diagnosed with lukemia, forcing him to withdraw from the production.
