James Goldman prepared a script especially for this production, using the conceit that the reunion was being covered on the radio. The "Bolero d'Amour" was used as an entr'acte.
The concert was performed on December 8. 1996. It was not broadcast on BBC2 till February 15, 1997. It was rebroadcast on September 6, 1997.
It had been announced that the performance would be issued on CD by Virgin Records, but it never was released.
