The show was so successful that the Shuberts decided to run two companies simultaneously across the street from each other (although only for a brief time). The one documented on this page played at the Shubert Theatre, and the other company played at the 44th Street Theatre.
There were inserts in the programs for both productions, asking patrons who saw both companies to vote for the performers they preferred in the principal roles, and the "winners" would open the London production.
