Trivia & History
This show was expected to open in London in September 1964. The Shaftesbury Theatre was booked, with an opening tentatively set for September 18, but this was not announced before the tryout started.
Reviews for the tryout were mixed to negative. An additional tryout engagement in Manchester was scheduled, and the London opening was delayed. In the end, the production closed without reaching London. The show did not play in London until a production in 1988, 24 years later.
