Trivia & History
Some sources give the date of the closing performance as having been January 4, 1998, but the correct date is January 3, as verified by people who were there and by an article published in the New York Times on January 23, 1998, and a playbill.com article on January 4.
The article in the Times stated that the producers had "been promised sufficient money to take the extremely unusual step of reopening the show on April 13 at the Richard Rodgers Theater." The reopening never happened.
