Gene Vincent is the writer (with Donald Graves) of the 1955 rockabilly song "Be-Bop-a-Lula".

Vincent's manager, disc jockey Tex Davis purportedly bought out Graves' rights to the song, substituted his own name in the credits, and arranged for Vincent to make a demo.

The first released recording of "Be-Bop-a-Lula" was by Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps in 1956, from Capitol Records (45rpm, catalog number F3450).
