Synopsis

Lorelei Lee, a blonde girl from Little Rock, knows how to get her way – especially with men. She and her friend, Dorothy Shaw, embark on a cruise to Europe where she hopes to marry the wealthy Gus Esmond. In the end, even though Gus’s father disapproves, she manages to marry Gus. She further convinces a married man to give her a diamond tiara.

Trivia & History

This was not the first time that Anita Loos's novel was attempted to be musicalized. In 1926, Florenz Ziegfeld went to Florida to meet with Ms. Loos to discuss it. But he arrived the day after producer Edgar Selwyn had signed her to dramatize it as a play (which opened on Broadway in September 1926).
