Call Me Madam

The production had been announced for a two-week run, but it closed after the first Saturday night performance because the theatre was having severe financial difficulties. Producer Ben Kapen told the press that Call Me Madam had done very well, and the production of The Boy Friend that had immediately preceded Call Me Madam had also done well, but there had been such heavy losses earlier in the season that the theatre had to close.
