Trivia & History

The production was originally scheduled to run two weeks, closing on June 11, 1961, but the reviews were strong enough that the run was extended for three more weeks. As it turned out, the box office response, although good, was not quite strong enough to justify three more weeks, and so the closing date was moved back a week so that the extension was only for two weeks, not three.
