The information we have found thus far concerning the date the production closed and the number of performances it played seem to be in conflict. We have found 36 given as the number of performances, but that seems unlikely with a closing date of May 12, 1956, after an opening on March 28, 1956. If the production played a standard schedule, it should have run 53 performances or at least a total around that.

It is possible that the production did not play a standard schedule of eight performances, but we have found no evidence suggesting that, except for the seeming discrepancy between the opening and closing dates and the number of performances we have seen listed.

As the sources for the closing date seem more likely to be correct than the source for the number of performances, we list the closing date of May 12, 1956, at the top of this page, but we don't list a performance total. But a mystery remains, and it may be that the closing date we list is wrong.
