A fire in 1926 caused the theatre to close for renovations until 1928. The stock market crash of 1929 closed the theatre again. The following year it reopened as a movie house and remained that way for 30 years.

The Neptune Theatre was formed in 1962 and purchased the building the following year. The venue was demolished to make way for a new facility.
