Trivia & History

Originally to be called International Music Hall, it changed before it opened. Designed by Donald Desky as a companion house to the RKO Roxy cinema, the building was built from 1931 to 1939, although it opened in 1932. It originally showed first-run films along with a stage show featuring the Rockettes.
In 1999, a 70 million dollar renovation restored its art deco interior.
