Synopsis

Aspiring performers Maryanne and Yolanda chase a break under pragmatic producer Mr. Fisk while veteran Eleanor weighs her own shot at comeback glory. Their ambitions, rivalries and alliances play out in rehearsals, auditions and tryouts, with the unseen “Voice of Merman” prodding, warning and inspiring them. Classic theatre songs—reimagined within the story—chart flirtations, stumbles and second chances until the company rallies for an all-out finale that insists show business demands grit, wit and unstoppable brass.
