Based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis.

Set in Manhattan in 1989, the story spans three years in the life of wealthy young investment baker Patrick Bateman. Bateman narrates hs everyday activities, from his daily life among the upper elite class of New York to his forays into murder by nightfall.

In 12/2010, Duncan Sheik talked to Broadway.com about the show. At the time, he envisioned a four- or five-member band on stage with synthesizers and drum machines, "It'll probably be 75 percent Duncan Sheik music and 25 percent music of the era and referenced in the book and/or movie."
