Along an English riverbank, a shy newcomer leaves home and finds steadfast friends in a seasoned boatman and a gruff protector. Their harmony is upended by a reckless aristocrat whose mania for motorcars leads to crashes, jail, and the loss of his ancestral house to weaselly invaders. Through escapes, disguises, and a rallying of woodland allies, the companions restore their friend’s home and temper his excesses, celebrating camaraderie, second chances, and the quiet beauty of life by the water.
