In 1976, while attending Mansfield University, writers Dianne Adams, Fred Bennett, and Richard O’Donnell first met, all sharing their adoration for the bygone years of vaudeville, burlesque, and the great MGM musicals. They went on to write One and One together as their homage to those genres.
The show received two ASCAP Special Awards, the first in 1978 and the other in 1979.
Backers auditions were held in 1979 in hopes of producing the show on Broadway.
