Trivia & History

The first act of this production consisted of a Spanish ballet by Tortajada followed by Manuel Klein's 'Chinese' opera, BOW SING. LA BELLE PAREE was the second act of this billing and was little more than a glorified vaudeville.

LA BELLE PAREE is notable, however, in that it was the premi?re production in the Winter Garden Theatre in the area that was to become known as Broadway. More significantly, perhaps, it marked the Broadway debut of Al Jolson.

This was the final attraction of the bill and the program was revised weekly. On opening night the program read:
