Orlando Puffin, a young university professor, is shipwrecked on what he believes is a deserted island. He is dismayed to discover that he is not alone; a group of female scholars from his university is also on the island as part of an expedition studying Shakespeare. Romantic complications ensue. Still more romantic complications ensue, along with bickering over who has the right to the island, when an all-male group of oceanography scholars arrives from the university.
