Harold Arlen was rehearsal pianist for this show as well as a bit player for a short time in the tryout version. For HOORAY FOR WHAT (1937) and JAMAICA (1957) he wrote the similar, but different songs, 'Napoleon's a Pastry' and 'Napoleon' (lyrics for both by E. Y. Harburg). It's likely that the idea for these may have come from the discarded number, 'Bismark Is a Herring, Napoleon Is a Cake', from this show!
