Synopsis

In occupied France during World War II, a resourceful Jewish intellectual finds himself stranded with a car he can’t drive. Across the hall waits a rigid, aristocratic colonel who can drive—but lacks a car. To evade the advancing Nazis, they form an unlikely alliance. Joined by the colonel’s warmhearted companion, they flee together, encountering absurd and dangerous obstacles along the way: fleeing via a malfunctioning vehicle, disguising themselves in a roadside carnival, and dodging Gestapo agents. Their journey tests their prejudices and survival instincts, transforming mutual distrust into camaraderie. Amid fleeting romance, chaotic travel, and narrow escapes, the trio’s flight becomes a testament to resilience and unexpected bonds forged under pressure.
