Trivia & History

The majority of the poems in Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats (1939) were set to music in their originally published form. Several were slightly revised to accomodate tense or pronoun. Eight lines were added to "The Song of the Jellicles". Lyrics for "The Marching Song of the Pollicle Dogs" and "The Story of Grizabella" were discovered among T.S. Eliot’s unpublished papers.
