Prior to CANTERBURY TALES the music was used as background to the non-staged CANTERBURY PILGRIMS with narration by Martin Starkie. E/Polydor 583 008 (S); G/Deutsche Grammophon 139 380 (S) (in English).

'Sit Down Upon My Knee' is the only selection for the pardoner and the summoner, characters in 'The Pardoner's Tale', that has been traced. It is very possible there were more selections in this tale, but since there were no song titles in the London program no further cut song titles have been located.
