The first issue of this recording, on LP, didn't include "It's a Hit." The first issue of the original cast's recording of "It's a Hit" was in A Collector's Sondheim.
Several numbers — including the Overture and "Our Time" — were somewhat truncated for the recording, but the first appearance of "The Hills of Tomorrow" was expanded for the recording. In the production onstage, the curtain rose as the cast was already singing the song and was near the end of it. For the recording, the song was heard complete in both its appearances. Onstage, it was only heard complete when it was sung at the end of the show.
Our song listing above reflects the song listing in the recording booklet, with no reprises listed as such, but with each version of the title song differentiated by the year it occurs or the years it covers.
