Originally the production was supposed to close on July 14, but due to popular demand was extended three times. First to August 25 and then to September 30 and finally to November 25. Unfortunately, flagging ticket sales forced a close on November 4.
It was originally announced that Leslie Kritzer would replaced Julia Murney, however Kritzer was forced to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict. Oddly, the same day it was announced that she would not be in Closer Than Ever, it was announced that she would be joining the cast of the off-Broadway show, NEWSical the Musical during what would have been her run in Closer Than Ever.
