Oscar Hammerstein supplied a revised version of the original script for this production. He had earlier revised the script for the natiional tour. We do not know if the revision seen in this production was a further revision of the national-tour script or the same script used there.
It was announced that this production might move on to Broadway, but this did not happen.
The run of the production was originally announced as August 26-30, 1952, but it ended up running September 16-21.
