Some sources give an incorrect opening date of May 23, 1955. Contemporary sources, including the date on which the reviews appeared, leave no doubt that the production opened on April 23.
As part of the Phoenix Theatre’s season, this was scheduled for a five-week run, but favorable reviews led to an extension beyond the original closing date of May 29, 1955.
When the extension started, Nancy Walker was given star billing over the title.
