This tour is sometimes listed as several different tours because it took several breaks of two to three months, then it would start up again. We follow the Rodgers and Hammerstein Fact Book in considering it one tour.

In 1951 and in 1953, the tour played engagements in New York. We list those engagements separately.

From May 1948 through May 1949, there seems to have been a second tour running simultaneously with the first one, but we do not yet have enough information on it to list it.

According to the theatre column in the New York Times on August 16, 1943, Teddy Hart, the brother of Lorenz Hart, was offered the role of Ali Hakim in this tour, but he chose to do One Touch of Venus instead.

From fairly early in the run (probably some time in 1944), Alfred Cibelli (aka Renato Cibelli) seems to have sometimes played Jud in the ballet as well as in the rest of the show.
