The Fig Leaves Are Falling

Original Broadway Production (1969)

Trivia & History

The final production cost was $600,000.

Jules Munshin was originally announced for the role of Charley. He played at least some performances out of town before being replaced by his understudy, Kenneth Kimmins.

The show was originally to open on December 27, 1968 but was delayed.

Jack Klugman left as director before rehearsals started. An article announcing the change from Mr. Klugman to George Abbott appeared in the New York Times on Sept. 13, 1968.

The source for our song list and cast list is a playbill dated opening night. The show made major changes late in previews, and it seems that the song list and cast list in some other sources come from previews.
