Different sources give different performance totals. Some say 267, some say 264. In the absence of definitive information, we list 268. This total is based on the number of full weeks of the run — 33 — multiplied by 8, with four performances added for the partial opening week of performances, the opening having been on a Thursday.

Given that ads listed two extra matinees during Christmas week 1986, 270 may be correct, but it also may be that the usual Wednesday and Saturday matinees were not played that week.

This was an expanded version of a production that opened at the Palace in Watford on April 10, 1986. The same director and choreographer did both productions, along with some of the same cast, including Maureen Lipman as Ruth,  Emily Morgan as Eileen, Ray Lonnen as Robert Baker, and Nicolas Colicos as Wreck. Although at this time, we don't have complete cast or staff lists for that run, we know that some other principal cast members were different and there was a different musical director.
