Trivia & History

Some sources give October 10, 1966, as the date of the first performance in Boston. The playbill from the first week in Boston says, "Week of October 11, 1966," so we have chosen to list October 11 as the date. October 11 was a Tuesday.

Harold Prince tended to schedule previews before the first performance out of town. Often the first preview would be on a Saturday evening with the opening on the following Monday or Tuesday. As of now, we have not been able to find any information on previews. It is possible that the Ocotober 11 performance was a preview.
