This was the last of the ZIEGFELD FOLLIES to be presented under the aegis of Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. who died 22 Jul 1932. The ZIEGFELD FOLLIES continued, however. For the next two editions they were formally presented by Mrs. Florenz Ziegfeld (Billie Burke) but in actuality they were backed by the Shuberts.

The 1943 edition which had the longest run of any of the ZIEGFELD FOLLIES was produced by the Shuberts. Following that edition the title was used by those who had the strongest legal claim to it. See also the Comments following ZIEGFELD FOLLIES OF 1926.
