'Mood Indigo' was originally written in 1930 as an instrumental titled 'Dreamy Blues'. A year later Mitchell Parrish gave it lyrics and retitled it 'Mood Indigo'. It became a hit and is still a standard today. Unfortunately, Mr. Parrish was under a flat rate contract to Mills Music meaning he would never receive a cent of royalties nor would he ever receive any credit for this song.
