Synopsis

A princess from the European kingdom of Romanza visits the United States and falls for West Point lieutenant Richard Fay. Their budding romance weaves through parades, ballroom spectacle, and nightlife, with Mary O’Brien and Bill Delroy adding comic turns while King Cyril’s court presses for duty and dynastic plans. Ultimately, love and loyalty collide as the couple navigate political pressures and public pageantry on both sides of the Atlantic.

Trivia & History

A film version was supposed to be made with Marion Davies in 1928 and actually began filming. However, the production was halted when the MGM converted its studio to sound. The 1937 film incorporated footage from the unfinished version, mostly exterior shots.
