Guy Bolton is frequently credited as a lyricist for this show. This is incorrect.
In Gerald Bordman's book 'Jerome Kern His Life and Music' Mr. Bordman shows the program for preview and first night audiences which lists 'A Picture I Want to See' as being in the 'Wheatless Days' position. As 'Wheatless Days' was mentioned in the opening night reviews it is felt that there was not time to change the program and that 'Wheatless Days' had been substituted for 'A Picture I Want to See'.
Similarly, 'Do Look at Him' may have been either cut prior to or added after the New York opening. We feel it is most probable that it may have been in the show and just not in the program. It is in the vocal score for OH, LADY! LADY!!
