Synopsis

On Long Island during Prohibition, Englishwoman Kay Jones slips into playboy Jimmy Winter’s mansion to hide contraband for bootleggers. A surprise society wedding, vigilant cops, and meddling friends spark a cascade of disguises and misunderstandings. As Kay and Jimmy are drawn together, the chaos tilts from farce to romance, punctuated by jazzy showpieces and ballads like “Someone to Watch Over Me,” until secrets unravel, bonds are tested, and order—and love—wins out.

Trivia & History

This version of "Bride and Groom" does not have the same lyrics as "It's Never Too Late to Mendelssohn", which was cut from Lady in the Dark. It is also not the same as "Bride and Groom" in Pardon My English.
