The tale of a young chorus girl who becomes a star when the leading lady gets seasick (after the demolition of a theatre leads a troupe to perform on the deck of a battleship).

Originally written as a short sketch, the show was lengthened to 50 minutes for an off-off-Broadway showcase. Then it was expanded to a full-length musical for an off-Broadway run two years later.
