This recording sometimes is said to have been recorded on closing night. We do not know the exact date of this recording, but we are confident that it was not recorded on closing night, when the audience response was far more enthusiastic than is heard here. We are confident that it was recorded fairly near the end of the run as it is audibly David Vosburgh rather than Gene Varrone as Mr. Erlanson. Vosburgh did not take over till late June or early July.
