The booklet with the CD issue of this recording states "Orchestra conducted by John Berkman." Our understanding is that this is incorrect. It seems that the information was taken from a copy of the production's playbill after Berkman had taken over as conductor. At the time the recording was made (the Sunday after the Broadway opening), the orchestra was still being conducted by Harold Hastings, and he conducted the recording session.
Opening night playbills, as well as out-of-town playbills, listed Marion Delano as the First Customer, but at some point during the run she returned to the name under which she had performed earlier in her career, Marion Brash. Oddly, she was credited as Marion Brash on the original LP issue of this recording, relased very soon after the opening.
